Brownells to Help American Cancer Society

For every Shoot Like A Girl gun case product sold though Brownells, they are donating 10% of the purchase price to the American Cancer Society to help fight breast cancer.

The Shoot Like A Girl cases are made in the USA from pink 1000-denier Cordura nylon, and there are cases available for pistols, scoped rifles, and M4 carbines.

Maybe not a bad idea for a Mother's day gift, if you've managed to get your mom or the mother of your child out to the range.

Cheaper Than Dirt! Buy-A-Gun Feature

Many of you may know of Cheaper Than Dirt! from their firearm accessory catalogs, or at least their magazine ads.  The CTD website has a new Buy-A-Gun feature to help people find guns that may be hard to find.  If you click the "FFL Dealers" link on the right side of the page, you'll be prompted to enter you zip code, and then the website will generate a map of your area, showing the locations of nearby dealers, with addresses and phone numbers.

Also in the links along the right side of the page are links to databases of gunshows, gunsmiths, firearms training classes, shooting ranges, hunting guides, and a link to "Blue Book of Gun Values."  A few other websites have hosted this type of information, but sadly a lot of them have folded.  Hopefully CTD won't do anything stupid and go out of business.

Bar-Sto is Moving Out of Commifornia

Bar-Sto Precision Machine, is a company in California that makes pistol barrels, and does gunsmithing work on 1911/2011 pistols, 870 shotguns, Glocks, Springfield XDs, and AR rifles.  It looks like they are also making a metal memory-groove type grip safety for Springfield XD pistols.

Irv Stone, current owner of Bar-Sto credits the tax situation in California as the motivation for the move.  There's no mention of the gun laws in Cali, but I imagine that's a part of it too.

According to the "Views and Reviews" column in the June 2010 issue of American Rifleman, the move is scheduled to take place sometime in the first half of 2010.
